Spooly by Extrusion Therapy
A free animated desktop companion for Bambu Lab and Klipper/Moonraker 3D printers.
Spooly is a small, always-on-top desktop pet that watches supported printers on your local network. Click Spooly for a compact fleet view with each printer's state, progress, temperatures, and reported fans without keeping every slicer open.
What It Displays
- Monitor multiple supported printers from one desktop companion
- Idle, printing, paused, filament-out, error, complete, and offline states
- Print percentage and a status-colored progress bar when reported by the printer
- Actual and target nozzle and bed temperatures while printing or paused
- Part, auxiliary, and chamber fan states when reported by the printer
- Priority alerts that place attention states and completed jobs ahead of ordinary printing
- Animated mascot reactions and automatic attention bubbles
- Local-network discovery for Bambu Lab and Moonraker-compatible printers
- Duplicate detection, configuration backup and restore, adjustable size, and launch at login on macOS and Windows
- Read-only monitoring that never starts, pauses, stops, or modifies a print
How It Works
Spooly connects directly to configured printers on the same local network. Bambu connections use the printer's local MQTT service, while Klipper printers connect through Moonraker.
Spooly has been physically verified with the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon and H2S and the Snapmaker U1. Other Bambu Lab and Moonraker-compatible printers may work through the same protocols but have not all been physically verified.
There is no Spooly account, cloud relay, advertising, or analytics service. Printer configuration stays on the computer under the current operating-system user account.
